Every January, the Electronic Village Online (EVO) from TESOL provides a series of free excellent online professional development sessions for teachers of English Language Learners.

They’ve just issued a call for proposals from educators who have an idea for a session and want to lead it:

The Electronic Village Online (EVO) Call for Proposals for 2025 is now open for English language teachers to apply to give five-week online professional development sessions, January 13 – February 16, 2025, to teachers worldwide. Proposals may be on any topic relevant to the teaching of English to speakers of other languages.

EVO Sessions are free and open to anyone around the globe. It is not necessary to be a TESOL or IATEFL member nor to attend the TESOL Convention in order to participate. All you need is access to the Internet. To view descriptions of earlier sessions, including last year’s, please see EVO Previous Sessions.

Individuals may propose a session, but we strongly recommend a team of several moderators for each session. At least one moderator on the team must be a member of TESOL or IATEFL, an affiliate association, or another English language association. Oct. 6 – Nov. 10, moderators and co-moderators of accepted proposals engage in hands-on professional development in online discussion management, the use of live virtual video/audio conferencing, and the design of modules for teaching in an online learning management system (LMS).

It’s a great opportunity!
