Bangladesh scraps national holiday on Aug 15 marking Bangabandhu’s assassination

The interim government of Bangladesh decided to cancel the August 15 national holiday that marked the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the country’s founder and father of Sheikh Hasina. This decision followed consultations by Yunus with different political parties.
