Lubbock, TX – HOSA – Future Health Professionals (HOSA) and iCEV, a trailblazer in Career & Technical Education (CTE) solutions, recently recognized three outstanding health science students with scholarships. Sanjay Kesavan and Siddharth Ghosh Roy, both of New Jersey, received scholarships after winning this year’s iCEV-sponsored Pathophysiology Contest at the HOSA International Leadership Conference earlier this summer in Houston, TX. Charlie Fontana of Colorado additionally received an iCEV-sponsored scholarship during the conference for her academic success.
“With a projected shortfall of healthcare workers in the next 10 years, supporting CTE students looking to enter into the in-demand healthcare industry is imperative,” said Dusty Moore, CEO of iCEV. “We share HOSA’s commitment to promoting career opportunities in this field and look forward to working alongside the organization to continue to help recognize—and celebrate—exemplary students.”
The Pathophysiology Contest is a competitive event that aims to inspire HOSA members to learn about the anatomy and physiology of human diseases impacting the health community. The first-place winners in the two contest divisions—Kesavan in the secondary division and Ghosh Roy in the post-secondary division—each received a scholarship from iCEV, while all members who placed in the contest received plaques.
Fontana was recognized as part of the HOSA Scholarship Program. Fontana serves as the vice president of public relations for her HOSA chapter, volunteers as a teacher aid for several Spanish teachers, assists with providing tours of her school to new and prospective students, tutors peers, and aspires to major in biochemistry in college.
As part of its ongoing partnership with HOSA, iCEV will sponsor additional scholarships for standout students on a yearly basis.
iCEV is also partnering with a number of other leading career and technical student organizations (CTSOs) to award student scholarships. The sponsorship of these student scholarships comes as iCEV celebrates its 40th year of service to the CTE community.
“The scholarships are just one way we can support standout CTE students and give back to the CTE community at large,” said Moore. “Through our ongoing partnerships with CTSOs, our goal is to increase the number of scholarships we award and, in turn, the number of deserving CTE students we are able to honor each year.”
