“Interview Warm-Up” From Google MAY Help Students Prepare For Job…Interviews

 

There are now a zillion AI-powered sites where people can practice for job interviews, and I have several on The Best Places For Students To Write Their Resumes and The Best Places For Students To Write Their Resumes lists.

Interview Warm-Up is a bit different from the rest of them.

Most importantly, it’s actually created and hosted by Google. That could be helpful with district Internet content filters, and it’s likely to stay free-of-charge for awhile (most other similar tools let you do a small number of practice interviews before they start charging).

Though the jobs you can practice for are tech “heavy,” they also have a “general” category that offers some questions that are asked in just about every job interview.

After you provide your answers, the site “grades” your answers and gives you feedback.

Yes, many of us do practice job interviews with our students, and these are much better. But sometimes it’s hard to find the time to do thirty-five of them. Even if we can fit them it, it couldn’t hurt to have all students practice with something like this first – perhaps as something do while we’re doing the one-on-one practices…
