A Beginning “Best” List For Getting Started On Bluesky

Like MANY educators, I’ve been spending a fair amount of time on BlueSky for the past few weeks (though I haven’t entirely abandoned Twitter – yet).

You can follow me at @larryferlazzo.bsky.social

Here are resources I and others have shared there about getting started:

This list of ELL/EAL/ELT/ESL educators is at 250 and growing. It’s a great feed! Let me know if you want me to add you to it. You can see names by looking under “About” bsky.app/profile/did:…

I’m still confused about how this platform works and I think you need to periodically return to this starter pack and click “follow all” to keep abreast of new additions. But if you’re interested in ed news, follow these colleagues: go.bsky.app/UccLjhX

For several years, I have asked my district’s DEI team to help me find other Muslim educators amongst our 1000+ faculty members. So far, we only know of 3 of us.

Help us find other Muslim educators on Bluesky! Let me know if you’d like to be added to the starter pack. #EduSky

This obsession is unhealthy. Our horizons are fine. Also social media, for most, is not a job. It is not school. It is socializing. And it’s fine to say “I don’t want to hang out with Nazis, homophobes, transphobes etc in my free time.”

There may be better way to see the names of people on a specific feed, but I do it by pinning it to my home, then click on the hashtag on upper right, click on that feed, & then click on ‘about.’ U can do that 4 this one I’ve created of educators from Twitter & new ones bsky.app/profile/did:…
