Colonialism and gender inequality: The case of political representation in Nigeria

Nigeria ranked 130th out of 146 countries in the Global Gender Gap report. Neoliberal tropes have posited this as a regional problem, whereby gender inequalities have prevailed as intrinsic to a ‘one-size-fits-all’ African culture.
