We know it can be challenging to keep up with the latest advancements in Nutrition education. We also understand just how important these updates are for overall student success in higher ed. That’s why we’re happy to announce that Diet & Wellness Plus is now powered by ESHA , an extensive database that will be available for your course beginning in January 2025. Same as before, students and instructors can easily access Diet & Wellness Plus either inside the MindTap online learning platform or as a standalone browser app.

Why ESHA?

Students deserve to have comprehensive, top-notch resources available right at their fingertips, which is one of the many reasons we chose to partner with ESHA. A leading provider of nutrition analysis software, ESHA has equipped Diet & Wellness Plus with a database of over 100,000 foods. Students still have access to all of the familiar food items they know but can now search through a wide range of categories, including added sugars, name-brand foods, ethnic foods, and custom foods. In other words, more options for them equals less frustration for you.

Improving diet analysis by expanding food options

Let’s dig further into why additional food options improve diet analysis for students who use Diet & Wellness Plus. For starters, students can expect a higher level of accuracy when analyzing their diets. Thanks to the inclusion of many specific food items, students can precisely calculate macronutrients, track micronutrient intake, and assess dietary patterns knowing their personalized selections are going to provide them with correct results specific to their choices.

Promoting real world connections in Nutrition

Do your students sometimes overlook connections between diet analysis and the real world? ESHA’s integration into Diet & Wellness Plus makes those connections a whole lot easier to find. Students now have access to a wide range of food items that are specific to certain cultures or dietary preferences. The opportunity to understand the impact of different foods on their overall health feeds students’ cultural curiosity and promotes inclusivity and diversity in the classroom, where it’s often needed most.

Diet & Wellness Plus: A dependable tool reshaped

Even before partnering with ESHA, Diet & Wellness Plus has long been a reliable tool, where students can track their diet and activity, generate reports, and analyze nutrients. Students who use Diet & Wellness Plus have a better understanding of how nutrition relates to their personal health goals and their own unique dietary habits, so they can make more informed decisions.

That being said, there’s always room for improvement. We recently made Diet & Wellness Plus even better by implementing some exciting new upgrades. We encourage you to check them out.

New Diet & Wellness Plus Updates

New modern feel and design.
New homepage and healthy behaviors section. Updated profile options and fun avatars.
New assignment dashboard.
Gradebook, which includes customized graded assignments, commentary, grade adjustment, and color-coded analysis.

Diet & Wellness Plus: Better for you and your students

We believe this partnership with ESHA will help students better understand their dietary habits, make informed choices, and embrace lasting behavioral changes. As an educator, you now have an even more powerful tool at your disposal to enhance your teaching and inspire students.
