The New York Times Learning Network shares lots of amazing stuff.
However, I think their Tiny Memoir contest is one of the best, if not THE best and most useful resource they share with teachers.
I know lots of teachers, including several just at my school, who use it with their students.
It challenges students to write 100 word memoirs.
