Victoria’s next unicorns: LaunchVic reveals 2025 30×30 cohort

LaunchVic unveiled the newest cohort for its prestigious 30×30 program, aimed at helping Victoria’s fastest-growing scaleups achieve unicorn status—a valuation of $1 billion or more—by 2030.

This fully subsidised, four-month program offers a transformative opportunity for businesses to connect with mentors from some of Australia’s most successful unicorn companies, including Atlassian, Canva, and SEEK. The program specifically addresses the key scaling challenges in HR, Operations, and Finance, essential for businesses aiming to navigate the journey from startup to scaleup.

Dr Kate Cornick, LaunchVic’s CEO, highlighted the extraordinary potential of the latest cohort. “These scaleups have shown exceptional growth, and their commitment to developing their talent and capabilities positions them strongly for future success. The program will offer them valuable insights and guidance to continue on this impressive trajectory.”

This year’s cohort spans diverse sectors, including construction, healthcare, gaming, cybersecurity, and hospitality, underscoring the program’s appeal to high-growth industries across the board. Dr. Cornick also pointed out that a majority of the 2025 cohort were referred directly by investors, which she sees as a testament to the rising confidence in the Victorian startup scene.

Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs, Danny Pearson, expressed his support for the 30×30 initiative, recognizing the vital role that local startups play in the state’s economy. “Victoria has a vibrant startup ecosystem, and the 30×30 program is a vital part of helping these local entrepreneurs achieve their full potential. This will lead to the creation of highly skilled jobs and drive further economic growth across the state.”

Since its inception, the 30×30 program has been a pivotal force in supporting high-potential startups in Australia. The program’s unique focus on the critical functions of HR, Finance, and Operations for scaling businesses has made it a key resource in the startup ecosystem.

The Eleven New Companies in the 2025 Cohort:

Since its launch in February 2022, 30×30 has supported 28 scaleups across three cohorts. Collectively, these companies have raised over $600 million (USD) in funding and expanded into international markets, reinforcing the program’s reputation as a catalyst for business growth and global expansion.
